Frequently Asked Questions

Ok, so you're considering getting a new tattoo - or piercing. It's not something to be taken lightly! So, to be helpful, here are a few questions you might have, answered before you even asked them. But, you can always ask anything you like - just come by the shop, email us, or give us a call - all of our contact information is on our contact us page.

Does it hurt?

Well, yeah! Of course it does. But it's not unbearable, and it's probably not as bad as you think it is.

Are tattoos / piercings safe?

Yes, depending on the studio! Always make sure everything is clean, and sterile.

How do you clean and sterilize your instruments?

We use a hospital sterilizer (called an "autoclave"), and we even go one step further, by spore testing, which is not a demand by Kentucky standards.

How much does a tattoo cost?

Well, it depends - on how large the tattoo is, and how long it takes to do it. But prices start at $50.00 - hourly rate $100.00

How do I take care of my tattoo or piercing after I get it?

Be sure to check out our Aftercare page for a detailed description of how to take care of your new body decoration.

How old do I have to be to get a tattoo or piercing?

In Tennessee, you must be 18 - but, in Kentucky, you only need to be at least 16 years old, and if you are under 18, you will need your parents permission. You must be accompanied by your parent or legal guardian to the shop the day you wish to get your tattoo or piercing. You can view and/or print the parental consent forms out here.

In addition, you will need to bring your Birth Certificate, State ID or Drivers License, (Guardianship papers, if applicable) and, again, most importantly, your actual parent or guardian! Just a signature isn't quite good enough! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us!

I have an old tattoo that looks awful. What can you do with it?

Come in, and let us take a look at it. We can point you in the right direction, with anything from a minor touch up, to a complete cover up.

I have a picture of a tattoo that I want - can you do it?

Yes, absolutely - but we will not copy other artists' work!

Do I need an appointment?

Only if you are going to get a very large tattoo. Walk-ins are always welcome, though.
